A few of our start up companies have been very busy with their daily operations.  The summer is heating up here in San Antonio, Texas and so is our PREE Corporation our Clean Technology gurus.  PREE was invited to join the Science Friday, Ira Flatow at the Witte Museum in San Antonio to discuss, Switching The Energy Economy of San Antonio.  The mayor of San Antonio says he wants to make San Antonio the hub for alternative and renewable energy businesses.  The wireless energy crew from PREE Corporation fit right in and had a great time discussing all of their projects.

app development.  It was brought to our attention that often customer reviews on the internet can help
grow a client base.  Asking clients to review your services online can be a hard task to accomplish
because that means the client must go the extra mile to write and post the review.
Often if you offer superior service most clients are more than willing to write a nice review in appreciate.

Start-ups will soon learn the value of word of mouth advertising and learn that with technology word of mouth often
means reviews written on the internet.  This is a process we encourage each start-up to follow through with even after
they have been in business for years.  Online reviews can help you grow your client base as well as
encourage their friends to purchase your services.  The internet is becoming a very social place
and start-ups need to take advantage.

Each company needs to create several areas for your customers to easily write the reviews and the the company must
ask the customer to write the review.  Just send your customers a direct link and they will easily find

The last time we checked in with our start-up iPhone development team their business was just taking off.  Today, Idea Apps

There are many elements when working with a start-up company.  One of the elements that is sometimes over looked is making sure the start-up has a web presence.  If you don’t have a website we help you get started in the development process.  For the companies that already have a website they often have little to no website presence and they often are not sure how to even begin such a task.  There are many different elements that need to be considered when developing your website presence but we wanted to share a few of these elements that can help with this process.

Here are a few examples of our profile pages that we set up and we recommend to all of our start-up students:

Never under estimate the power of local directories.  A start-up or established company can take advantage of this one:  Hotfrog.com

We like hotfrog.com because it allows you to enter a lot of information about your company and it is all for free.

The other local directory that made our list for this particular blog is Brownbook.net, pay attention to how you sign up for your account and you can create an appropriate URL to match the name of your actual company.

The next one  is a start-up online group that lets you ask start-up questions.  It is nice to mingle and chat with other start-ups and learn from other companies mistakes.   It is called Sprouter.com and it lets you enter information about your company.  Sprouter.com also has a panel of experts to help guide the young professionals.

We found Ted.com interesting because it lets you spread ideas and talk with individuals who share your same interests.  Ted.com is a professional community and you will be surprised to see the great conversations going on.

Vator.tv is one of our favorites for start-up companies that let you enter valuable information about your company and join competitions.  Vator.tv is a great way to network with other start-ups and learn from some of the greats.  Take a look at the site you might be surprised at the companies that have already started participating.

Knowem.com has a great online community that allows you to create a company account.  Be sure to fill in as much information as you can to take advantage of all that they offer.  We are still working on some of our Knowem.com accounts ourselves but wanted to show case this site.

One of the most over looked area of exposure is your Google profile.  Fill out your company information on your Google profile and let everyone know about your company.

These are just a few of our favorite and simple ways to increase website exposure and just part of the process with our start-up students.

Idea Apps, our favorite app developers has had an interesting last few weeks with a lot of partnership app submissions and new clients.  Idea Apps feels the partnership app submissions have been getting better and better and they are excited to get into work each morning and read the submissions.  We checked in with Idea Apps to get an idea about the Android app market.  All of the current reports are talking about Android and how the platform is dominating the smartphone market.

The Idea Apps clients are now beginning to ask about Android app developers before asking about iPhone app developers.  The current trend began a few months ago.  In the past clients would only inquire about iPhone app development and would seldom inquire about android app developers.  Now clients are asking about the Android platform first and developing for both the Android platform and the iPhone platform at the same time.

Our beloved app developers, Idea Apps, Inc. has been hard at work the last few weeks.  The website is bringing in record app ideas and app development requests.  Part of the Idea Apps success is their rates are lower than any of their competitors with faster time lines.  In fact one of their competitors keeps a close eye on our very own app developers and follows Idea Apps leads in marketing and offering services.  However, the competitors have not figured out how to lower their prices to actually compete with our preferred app developers.
